Emma Binder is a writer from Wisconsin. They have received a Stegner Fellowship in fiction from Stanford University, an Elizabeth George Foundation Grant, a Wisconsin Institute for Creative Writing Fellowship, and a Vermont Studio Center Fellowship, among other honors. For their short stories, they have received an O. Henry Prize, the Indiana Review Fiction Prize, the Gulf Coast Prize in Fiction, and a Wisconsin Writers Award. Their work has appeared or is forthcoming in The Best American Short Stories 2025, The Best Short Stories 2024: The O. Henry Prize Winners, The Kenyon Review, Michigan Quarterly Review, Electric Literature’s Recommended Reading, and elsewhere.

Based in the Midwest, they are working on a novel and a story collection.
